Oh my goodness! Me too. Me too.
I am so excited for this but - December! So far away.
I have to be honest--I have mixed feelings about this movie. I don't love that Baz Luhrmann is the director because while I love Moulin Rouge and his style, I don't feel it fits with the novel in any way. On the other hand, I don't have a particular affection for the novel, just a knee-jerk defense of literature in general. But do I think the casting for this film was perfect (which counts for a lot right now when Anne Hathaway is currently ruining so many franchises)--Leo as Gatsby, Carey Mulligan as Daisy (can you do something on her hair/style??) and even dopey Tobey Maguire. I'm sure it will be good, and the pizzazy interpretation will make the not-reading of it more bearable for future generations of high school kids.
