Backstage :: Kenzo S/S '12

Guests at KENZO were greeted by models waving at them with smiling faces from every window in the courtyard of their headquarters in Paris. There were huge block letters spelling out KENZO in the middle of the courtyard and rainbow colored goodies such as violet and saffron flavored/tinted champagne and colorful cookies that spelled out KENZO.

Backstage was equally colorful and as lighthearted as it could be under the circumstances of trying to get 35 models ready for the 8 runway shows they did. Sometimes designers have multiple runway shows to make it a little more intimate and so all the press is able to attend the show despite their busy schedule.

The hair was led by hairstylist Anthony Turner. The look was very clean (even curly locks were blown out with minimal product) except for some TIGI moose that was blown into the models middle parts. A couple of bits in front of the ears were pulled out and everything was loosely braided in the back. The bits in front were out so they could float as the models walked (photo 5). I thought the hair was beautiful and could easily be translated to everyday wear and I also heard a little rumor that the new collection might be a little more affordable. If so, I will hopefully be wearing this dress next spring.
